Sterling Man Arrested for Alleged Loudoun County Drunk Driving Crash

An alleged drunk-driving accident in Loudoun County, Virginia, injured a motorcyclist from Sterling on Monday, September 10, 2012; he was rushed to the hospital where he was in critical condition. The crash occurred at the intersection of South Cottage Road and Nalls Court around 7:15 p.m. in Sterling.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office reports that a 34-year-old man from Sterling was riding a motorcycle north at the South Cottage Road and Nalls Court intersection when a 2012 Dodge Challenger hit him. It has been reported that the driver of the 2012 Dodge Challenger was travelling south at the intersection when he crossed the centerline at a curve in the road and hit the motorcyclist. After colliding with the motorcyclist, the driver allegedly hit a parked vehicle.

The driver of the Dodge Challenger has been identified as 40-year-old Alvin C. Stotts, Jr. of Sterling. Mr. Stotts has been charged with driving under the influence in connection with this accident. He was taken to the Lansdowne campus of Inova Loudon Hospital for treatment of what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist, whose name was not immediately released to the media, was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital in critical condition following this alleged Loudoun County drunk-driving accident. The media has not been informed of an update to his condition.
