Amanda Bynes, an actress perhaps best known for her roles in Nickelodeon’s show “All That,” has been arrested for various traffic crimes that could result in a jail sentence.
According to reports, Ms. Bynes has been arrested for two separate hit and run accidents in Los Angeles. The first accident allegedly happened in April 2012 and the second accident allegedly occurred on August 4, 2012.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Valley Traffic Division reportedly investigated the August 4 accident on Ventura Boulevard in L.A. According to the LAPD, Ms. Bynes may have rear ended a Toyota, stopped briefly, and then left the scene of the accident without notifying the police or exchanging insurance information. Ms. Bynes alleges that she and the woman whom she hit agreed that there was no significant damage in the accident before she left the accident scene. However, that allegation and the amount of damage done to the other vehicle are disputed.
Last April, Ms. Bynes was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after allegedly hitting a Los Angeles Sherriff’s Department vehicle. That arrest reportedly occurred on April 6, 2012 in West Hollywood.
Ms. Bynes is expected to be arraigned later this month. She has denied the allegations against her and has reportedly gone on Twitter to ask President Obama for his help in firing the police officer who arrested her. If the actress is convicted she could face up to a year in jail.
