Cook Craig and Francuzenko is committed to client and employee safety. We are continuing to monitor the public health and community concerns as they relate to COVID-19. While this is a rapidly evolving situation, our firm continues to monitor and follow all state, federal, and health guidelines as set out by the Center for Disease Control and the Commonwealth of Virginia, and we remain accessible to our clients during this difficult time.

We know you may have specific questions as it relates to this pandemic, and we have listed our frequently asked questions below. Should a question you have not be addressed, please call us at 703-865-7480.

Is Your Office Currently Open During Normal Business Hours?

Yes. Our office has developed a hybrid presence with employees both teleworking and in the office for the safety of all.

Are you Accepting New Clients?

Yes, across all of our practice areas.

When and How Can I Contact You?

We can be contacted by phone or text message at 703-865-7480 or through our “Contact Us” portal. One of our intake specialists responds to all portal inquiries as soon as possible.

How Are You Conducting Consultations and Meetings?

At this time, we are holding consultations and meetings via video, telephone, or in person. Potential and existing clients will be asked which method they would prefer when scheduling.

To safeguard both our clients and employees, we are staggering in-office conference timing to allow sufficient time to sanitize the conference rooms between uses. For this reason, you may be able to schedule a meeting more expeditiously by choosing video or telephone.

What Video Chat Methods Do You Offer Clients?

We conduct our video conferences via Zoom. Prior to your meeting, you will be emailed a link with the invitation to join the conference. When joining the conference, Zoom will require you to enter a password.

What Precautions Are You Taking as it Relates to Coronavirus?

We are following all Virginia laws and CDC guidelines when setting our practices and procedures. Along with our hybrid office presence, we are practicing social distancing and enhanced daily sanitizing throughout our office. We also have PPE available for those who wish to use it, including face masks and gloves. If you are an estate planning client, we also offer “drive up” will signings.

How Can I Get Updates Regarding the Status of My Case or Legal Matter?

You can call us at 703-865-7480 or email the attorney or assistant working on your matter.

Are Courts Open in My Area?

The courts throughout Virginia have been issuing different procedural guidelines in accordance with the Governor’s executive orders. Our attorneys can advise you as to whether these closures or restrictions will impact your case.

What If I Can’t Come to Court Because I’m Sick or Quarantined?

Our attorneys can request a continuance on your behalf in the event of sickness or quarantine.

Will Scheduled Depositions, Mediation, Arbitration, or Settlement Negotiations Occur as Planned?

Many of these activities can go on as planned. Court reporters have been providing telephonic and video conferencing, and we have conference call numbers and other technology tools available to us to continue the progression of your case. As your attorney schedules these events, he or she will work with you to help schedule a method you are comfortable with.

On behalf of everyone at Cook Craig and Francuzenko, we wish you all to be safe and healthy during this difficult time. We are here to support our clients and the community wherever possible.
